Community Building Events

FELP is the community that we create together. Events at FELP build community, provide opportunities for growth, and support our school.

FELP Family Events

Open to all currently enrolled FELP families.

Back to School Picnic

Each family brings picnic lunch to the school playground after dismissal.  Watermelon, water and popsicles are provided. An informal event to see and meet other families and teachers. Held in September on a Friday, after dismissal, on the school playground (weather permitting,) or Fellowship Hall.

Back to School Night

A back to school night for parents to learn more about FELP and about their children’s teachers and classrooms. A weeknight evening in Fellowship Hall and individual classrooms.

Family Pot-luck Dinner

Each family brings a dish to share. Music, dancing, and kids art activities provided. Another opportunity for families to get to know each other and the whole FELP community. Held on a Saturday evening in November in Fellowship Hall.

Winter Sing Along

Usually held the last day before Winter Break in Fellowship Hall, we gather as a community to sing winter holiday songs together.

Earth Day

FELP kids, teachers, and parents work to take care of our little patch of earth. Parents are invited to volunteer and/or donate plants.

Kindergarten Graduation

A celebratory gathering of our kindergarten students and their families to commemorate their last year at our school and the transition to a new school.

Community-Wide Events

Strawberry Festival

This is an annual spring festival with games, arts and crafts, food, and bake sale, for the entire FELP family and surrounding community. Usually held on the first Saturday in May, 10 am – 1 pm, on the school grounds.

Summer Diversity Book Club

FELP staff host a book club hour in which we read children’s books that represent the diverse world in which we live. We follow up with an activity inspired by the book. This is open to all FELP families, as well as the wider community, who sign up.

Art Show

Each spring, we gather on a Saturday morning to showcase and celebrate your children’s art created throughout the school year.

Pasta for Pre-k Scholarship Fund Dinner

For many years, local restaurateur, Tony Foreman, has hosted an Italian dinner including wine at our school. All proceeds support our scholarship fund. At these events, children are welcome and many current FELP families, alum friends of FELP and supporters of early childhood education in Baltimore have attended.  We hope to continue to host events that support this cause.
